WIBTA? Cousin-in-law didn't respond to my text. Has a degree in communications...petty comeback?

My inlaws don't have the same sense of family that I do. I am close with my extended family. I am also close with my inlaws. His extended family doesn't really like eachother and holidays/ get togethers are strained...but they still try. Well the older generation does, but my husband and his cousin aren't held to standards of coming to any events. We show up a lot (unless it messes with my family's visits), but his cousin is flaky and cancels often. We have kids and so do they. My son doesn't really know them. We see them 1x a year or every other year.

We usually try to get together and go rent a cabin or camp. No one wanted to this year. We just moved to our house, so we offered to host everyone.

I sent an email trying to coordinate a get together and I didn't receive a reply from his cousin. My MIL suggested that I text her. She didn't reply at all. I told my MIL and said I didn't want to bother the cousin, but she reached out to her sister. The cousin said she would try her best to make it and to pick a date.

She has an effing degree in communications. So I clearly get that she doesn't want to come. But if she does should I just play it cool and let my son get to know his cousins? I mean I texted during the workday. A Friday. And it just said to check her email and to have a great day..so maybe it didn't warrant a reply? I also sent a picture of my husband and our son. I didn't even get a hello.

Am I wrong to be offended? I kind of want to throw shade at her, but also... I'm old and kind of not into petty stuff anymore. I am just kind of feeling like the AH for forcing something that clearly isn't working and wasn't working long before I came along.
