Career Change Thoughts?
Hi All,
I resigned from a manufacturing company that I worked for 11 years, keeping it short, it was time to move on. I spent the last 7 years as a Quality Control Lab Manager. I did some dabbling in QA initiatives, but I knew it was never for me and lost interest to progress in the quality world. I spent probably 50% of my job in the HR task world (payroll, scheduling, SOX reviews, I-9 verifications, managing employees in HRIS systems, etc.), and honestly enjoyed the HR side of my job more than the lab side. I see the HR world as a career switch, but I'm not exactly sure if I'm going about it the right way. Outside of the skills mentioned above, I have a B.S. in Biology, I'm 36, and have 11 years of post college work history. I'm currently going for the SHRM-CP certification. Is there anything else I could be doing? Does this career change make sense, is it achievable?
