SMP at DO school to MD Medical School?

Would it be possible / look bad to attend a 1 year master's program at a DO school and then apply to MD schools following completion? I've already received the option to attend a 1 year biomedical science master's program with a guaranteed interview at the DO school following completion with a 3.6 GPA, but I'm curious if it would be possible to use this SMP to apply to MD schools next year.

I still have several outstanding apps but I'm just thinking ahead before I contact them back on this. I would gladly attend the DO school but I'm just considering options. Thanks!
