Saddle for a short backed wide horse (not Duett)
Prefer dressage but will consider trail/endurance without a horn (lesson learned there out on a trail) and built so I can post in them. I prefer to ride with a long neutral leg. Horse needs a tree with a bit of a U shape to it and upswept back panels. He’s got big shoulders that are far from straight.
I’ve tried a Duett and it wasn’t for me. Can’t really explain why but I just didn’t find it comfortable and I kept feeling off balance like I was fighting the saddle. The Duett fit my horse though (confirmed with fitter).
I’ve tried reaching out to the Arabian Saddle Company and they’ve ghosted me.
I tried reaching out to Friesian Marketplace regarding their dressage saddle at the recommendation of a friend and never heard back.
Thorowgoods don’t have the right tree design that I can tell. They may work for short backed horses but my gelding needs that U shape.
Does that just leave me with Black Country? Their website says very little about their saddles and no real pictures so I can’t judge channel width or anything like that. Also really trying to stay $3k or less and doubt I can do that with them 🫤
