Hey everyone! My gf (18f) and I (22m) had a situation with an old friend of mine, let’s call her Emily. Emily and I have been friends for probably 6-7 years but it’s very on and off. We tend to check up on each other and play Fortnite like once every three months and text maybe once every other month. For the most part we just live our life. Well my gf considered Emily to be flirting with me through our texts, shown above. We argued over this as I didn’t find this to be flirting but the argument was deeper than that.

Today Emily and I got on Fortnite as said from the texts and I let my gf watch by streaming it to ease her concerns but of course it only made things worse. She continued claiming that for sure she was flirting.

To ease her worries more I told her I won’t talk to Emily or game with her while I’m in the relationship. That settled it but she still says that Emily was flirting and she sent a clip to several friends as she claimed who agreed with it. I said I don’t really trust her friends in that way due to prior circumstances, she and I agreed it was best to post on Reddit for a more equal opinion.

I would like to hear everyone’s opinion the supporting me and the going against me. Just give me any advice you think I should do regarding it. I’m open to everyone’s opinions and I’m not saying I’m necessarily right because I’m oblivious to flirting but I’ve had issues with this girl over people in the past and lost several friends over similar so I’m not saying she’s right or wrong I just would prefer and outside perspective who isn’t influenced by one person or another.

I was going to put a video of the clip that was sent but Reddit didn’t let me include it!
