Hey folks,
Been working on this side project to create a personal AI chatbot that runs fully local on Windows. No subscription, no API key, just plug & play.
It uses a quantized LLM, has a GUI, works offline, and I even got it chatting with documents and responding with voice. Fully offloaded onto my GPU for blazing fast response times - the optimization really shows when you're having longer conversations.

What makes it special:

* 6 different AI personalities that adapt to your needs (motivational coach, business consultant, therapist, etc.) - each with their own communication style and expertise

* Emotionally intelligent responses that actually feel human

* Context-aware conversations that remember and build upon previous chats

* Interactive features like dynamic checklists and progress tracking

* Personalization settings that let you customize the AI's communication style

* Professional interface that looks great in any setting

Technical highlights:

* Fully optimized for GPU - blazing fast response times

* CPU fallback support - can run smaller LLMs on CPU if no GPU available

* FAISS integration for RAG - can train on your own documents for domain-specific knowledge

* Runs completely offline with no internet dependency

* Responsive GUI that works on any screen size

* Smart conversation management and context handling

* Efficient memory usage for long conversations

I'm honestly surprised how well it's been running. The GPU optimization makes a huge difference for the larger models, and the FAISS integration lets you really customize the AI's knowledge base.

I've been using it daily for everything from business planning to personal motivation, and it's honestly become an essential tool. The way it maintains context and switches between different expert personalities is pretty impressive.

Anyone else working on similar local AI projects? Would love to hear about your experiences and maybe share some insights on what we've learned.
