I feel invisible even among friends and I don’t know how to fix it

Hey, I’m 19 and I’ve been struggling with something lately that I can’t really talk about with people I know. I feel like I’m always there for everyone else. I listen, give advice, remember birthdays, check in when someone’s down, but when it comes to me, it’s like I don’t exist.

I try to reach out, but most of the time my messages go unanswered. Even small gestures like someone asking how I’m really doing seem rare. People tell me I’m kind or a good friend, but it feels one-sided. I can’t tell if I’m overthinking or if people really just don’t notice me when I’m struggling.

I hate feeling bitter or resentful, but it’s hard not to. I just want genuine connection, to feel seen, and to have people who show up for me like I show up for them.

Has anyone else felt this way? How do you deal with feeling invisible even around the people you care about?
