Anyone have some pointers about taking a bus from Santiago to Mendoza?( I’m worried I will be stuck due to weather conditions)

I’m in Santiago, chile currently. Loving every second of this place.On Sunday I have planned on taking a bus from Santiago to Mendoza, across the Andes. On Thursday this week there is said to be a lot of rainfall, but I am worried that this will lead to snow/ice on the road across the Andes and my bus(which I am taking on Sunday)may be cancelled/turn around halfway through. Should I just go ahead and book myself a flight from Santiago to Mendoza instead? Any advice for a situation like this? Thanks!
