Physics Series

Hello guys, I was wondering what is the difference between the physics series. Why is the 2a,b,c worth more units. Is there a difference, I heard that the physics 1series was more algebra based and that the 2 series is more calc based. Is this true I need to take physics and want to know which to pick and prepare for.
