I wouldn't be surprised if by 2030, I will be shitting in diapers watching Cocomelon because I already act way too childish at the age of 17 in 2025
I'm 17 and in a year, I am going to be a legal adult and even at 17, I am old enough to watch R-rated movies and play M-rated games, yet I still watch preschool shows, specifically Bluey, I feel embarrassment just by writing that down.
I wouldn't had expected this in 2019 when I thought that I would be wearing some holographic iPhone or whatever in 2025, but instead, I've regressed back to toddlerhood in 2025 and I wouldn't be surprised if I get worse by 2030 in which I am scared that I would act different, hell, even worse by binge-watching Cocomelon.
I will forever hate that show for ruining my life and it all has to do with the combination of post-pandemic era 2010s nostalgia and as a bad way to engage with the youth, the former because the show barely counts as 2010s (I.e my childhood decade before my life went to shit because of the pandemic and the aftermath) and the latter because I want to relate to some sort of post-2022 era Gen Alpha kid culture even though I am way too old for that kind of stuff.
I feel bad just by thinking that this is what I am doing as a teenager, if I told myself 10 years ago that I would still be watching Disney Junior cartoons, the version of me 10 years ago would find me to be an embarrassment. Why does my life had to be like this? But no, somebody had to eat a bat in China almost 6 years ago and it indirectly turned me into a manchild.
If I'm still using Reddit by 2030, maybe I'll tell you that my life has improved, but it won't and it'll get worse.
If I'm watching Cocomelon by 2030 while shitting in diapers, I've already warned myself now.
