Current/credit jump.
Just curious if anyone knows why this might have happened as I’m pretty “new” to a majority of this. I’ve only had credit for around 3-4 years now. I did essentially everything right (payments on time, low utilization under 30 sometimes 10).
Really the only thing hurting me was my credit age. Last month I stupidly forgot to pay a cc bill for 30 days as I thought autopay was on when it wasn’t (for a card I barely use and it was only for $40…💀). Either way my credit score on vantage took a giant hit (like 120 points or something) and fico took around like 40 point ish hit. It was with BOA so goodwill was inevitably useless. But I paid it off immediately, probably not even 15 mins after I received the notif that they sent it to the report.
Though this morning I get an email from CK saying my credit went up a lot and my delinquency is “current”. When I checked my Vantage it went up all at once basically the entire point amount it dropped around 110 points or so. Obviously Ik this is with vantage so not too reliable but my fico hasn’t updated yet so idk what that’s like.
Is this normal though? In terms of being current? I was under the impression that it takes a while to slowly build your credit back up after a missed payment even if only 30 day. But as I stated my vantage score went back to complete normal like how it was a month ago before the missed payment. I can’t imagine they took it off my report but by the sounds of it could this be the case? Or is it common for your score to skyrocket back to normal.
