Lawyers, If Actual EPS is Higher than Stock Brokers Show, Can You Sue for Losses?
Thought I’ve seen it all in the stock market, but this one is new to me.
$PROP (Prairie Operating Company) reported Q2 earnings this morning, they reported $1.04 per share in earnings for Q2 results. This is $0.07 below consensus estimates of $1.11 for the quarter.
But here’s the thing, if you check Google news, Webull, Robinhood and Yahoo Finance, they are all reporting that the earnings per share was $0.18. A staggering $0.86 cents per share below the actual numbers. This caused the stock to tank over 20% today, because most investors don’t listen to earnings calls, they just go off of what their broker reports for earnings.
I have options contracts that are set to expire in September, and due to these incorrect earnings posted, they are worth significantly less than they would be if correct numbers were posted.
Is there legal recourse to sue as a result of incorrect numbers being posted and losses incurred as a result, or am I out of luck?
Thank you in advance.
