“After All” is a short, dreamlike instrumental piece from Secret Messages, notable for its ethereal synth textures and gentle, echo-laden keyboard melody. Clocking in at just over a minute, it acts less as a standalone single and more as a reflective interlude, bridging the upbeat “Time After Time” with the sprawling, cinematic closer “Hello My Old Friend.”

Although absent from the original 1983 single-LP release, “After All” was included as a bonus track on the 2001 CD reissue and later restored to its intended place on the 2018 double-LP edition. In this expanded format, it appears on Side 4, giving the final stretch of the album a sense of pause and atmosphere before its grand finale.
