San Antonio officers, how’s the work life balance?

Looking to join the academy the second I turn 20 1/2. Thought I’d ask first what the work life balance is like for SAPD officers considering there aren’t many posts about it online.

What are the hours like? Are weekends off or are they mandatory, or it just depends?

Asking because I’d like to continue training martial arts if I can, if not then.. oh well.
