Say it’s your anniversary

Has anyone else experienced the power of anniversaries when it comes to hotels? In my experience whenever you tell a hotel it’s your anniversary or even honeymoon (except Maldives where they want a wedding certificate) you get lots of freebies…not that I would ever do that for the freebies…
