Found in a ditch in east Tenn.
Everyday I walk about 5-7 miles on the country backroads of east Tennessee. And today, I was walking after a bit of a downpour... Stopped to take some pics of a small 3 foot waterfall in the creek. Saw this little rock on the creek bank and it caught my eye. So far, Google lens has been of little to no help. Keeps telling me it's tigers eye, and sometimes chert.. and then sometimes obsidian.
Now, keep in mind.. I don't have a clue what either of those three things are. Lol. So when I say it's not helpful, I don't mean that it's not right. It could very well be any or all of the three things it suggested. I simply mean, it doesn't just pop up in big bold letters -- "Justin, this is 100% _______".
Granted, my expectations are a litttttttttle bit high. 🙂
I search for all three of the substances it named... And none of them looked like this. And I'm just tired of looking on my own. I've probably spent a good 90 minutes on it when I could have been working on a set of heads for my Camaro. Or been at the gym. Orrrrr... Been a father to my dog who is looking at me as I finish writing this message to you all, like, "are you done yet??"
So a bit of digging around and I found you guys!
I'm sure it's simple. And I appreciate your all's help. I'm not even for sure why it's bugged me so much. Lol.
