Help!

We have, as a family have been flooded by medical expenses this year. Due to things out of our control(family of 4, 2 young kids) emergency room visits, regular appointments, Newborn with some medical issues(NG baby(a lot of appointments with many specialists). Kids were under my wife’s insurance(8900 OPM) which we hit here in the middle of July. She resigned from her job(in the middle of July) to keep the kids home due to the NG situation(+daycare is expensive as fuck) and we switched to my insurance for the whole family(18,000 opm). Insurance providers refused to carry over our previous OPM(Blue Cross Blue Shield in both cases). Right now we owe about 6000 with many appointments coming down the pike(back to school physicals, more follow ups with NG specialist, yearly exams, ect.). We’re definitely on track to surpass 20,000 OP. We have recently applied for Medicaid/Medicare and will more than likely be denied due to my level of income(middle class sucks). We have also reached out to the hospitals about in house financial assistance.

Basically looking for any other ideas to help with the situation. Everything is getting more and more expensive, and the medical bills keep pouring in every week. We budget very well and have really tightened up on everything because the economy sucks(we spend no extra money) but all of our extra cash ends up going to medical bills.
