Potential new buyer

So currently I drive a 17 Elantra Sport and inherited my dads 2004 ranger xlt fx4 that won't last more than a year without $5k in maintenance. So looking at selling off both and getting something new as I now live in rural Canada. On paper the maverick ticks all of the boxes with some bed space and the 4,000lbs towing. I just have a couple of questions for current owners:

1. Anyone regret the XL trim level? I am torn between XL and XLT.. My local dealer is bringing in several Hybrid XLs with 4k tow package. There is a couple of XLT versions for $5k cad more.

2. Anything you wish you knew before the purchase?

3. How is the truck in the snow? I know its likely too soon for most to have had their first winter in the hybrid awd drivetrain.

I am going to test drive one of the XLs tomorrow and hopefully see a couple of XLTs. The biggest draws to the truck for me is the fact that the hybrid is great for daily commuting with the fuel efficiency but i can still haul some stuff or borrow trailers for larger items. Being a new home owner a car with a roof basket just isn't cutting it.

After having a Veloster and Elantra Sport I am hesitant on any leather since both cars had the seat bolsters wear out fast. I did miss the electronic seat adjustment at first but after a few years without it I don't miss it as much as I thought. So going to the Lariat is likely not something I would value.
