Two years out from surgery and still get knee knocking/clicks sometimes only when wearing shoes

Every now and then when I wear shoes I sometimes get knee knocking/clicking when walking. This usually happens when there is a little swelling but never happens when I’m barefoot and I’m able to walk fine.

Is this an extension issue? Should I work on getting a little more leg extension?
