got rejected 2 "half" times by the Ritz Carlton...where is the problem??
In my city, in Europe, the Ritz Carlton is one of the most prestigious and renowned hotels. I tried to get in, after working at a Grand Hyatt for a couple of years, I work in F&B, last fall, I went to the interview, where unfortunately I was a little nervous and after 2 weeks (I had already lost hope) they invited me for a shift-test... I think the test went well and after a few days they told me that due to unexpected budget reasons, they will not hire me, saying however that they will keep me in mind for the future. OK... if I still had hope of getting into the Ritz. Afterwards, as a fallback, I accepted a job at a JW Marriott, unfortunately it was a terrible experience (I don't want to drag it out, but terrible organization and a toxic environment above all, felt like a cheap hotel actually) and after 2 months I quit. Without doing strange things and working until the last day in a professional manner. just telling them "it´s just not the right place for me, peace"
In May, I saw some open positions at the Ritz and applied, mentioning in my cover letter from last time that I still wanted to work there. After three days, I was immediately rejected. I soon accepted another job at a good 5stars hotel, but my dream of working at the Ritz remained alive. I learned through third parties that almost the entire team is leaving, meaning many positions will be open. So I applied again last week, and three days later, I received the same negative response.
My fear now is that I worked for Marriott and quit after only 2 months. They filed me as unreliable, or I don't know. I have nothing against Marriott. That JW Marriott was unfortunately poorly organized, and working there was almost embarrassing (yes, I have somewhat high standards). Or they asked and spoke badly of me... I don't know. It demoralizes me a bit because I think I have what it takes, and the Ritz is a perfect and stimulating environment for me. I don't think I'll continue applying...
If any of you work for Marriott or at the Ritz and could clarify the situation for me, I'd be very grateful. Thanks for reading this far :)
