Remove old glue from plywood

Like the title says. I removed rubber side panels from inside of my horse trailer which were screwed and glued on. I'm wondering if I should use a heat gun, or sandpaper or chemical to remove the glue? The plywood will be getting covered up again with cabinets and maybe tile as we're transforming it into a coffee trailer
