I can't get past the idea that I have to wear makeup to look professional.
To put things on perspective, I'm 53 and squarely in the grips of menopause. My skin has gone from oily to dry, and my face is covered in freckles. I'm also legally blind without my glasses and had to give up my contact lenses about 10 years ago due to side effects from glaucoma medication.
I've always felt that I needed to wear a full face of makeup to look professional. Now, I don't like the feel of it on my skin Plus, somedays I get sweaty from hot flashes, so whatever makeup I do put on quickly wears off. I also have difficulty seeing to do anything more than the basics. Most days I wear a light foundation and mascara. Occasionally I will wear a lip tint. Again, I no longer like the feel of lipstick. But, I feel like I'm being judged by others, especially when I'm in court, because I'm wearing only minimal makeup.
So, have any of my fellow bitches come to terms with looking professional without wearing a full face of makeup?
