Any pitfalls doing appliqué onto linen pants?

Hi, I can’t find any examples of what I want to do, but basically I want to appliqué some small quilt blocks onto some existing linen pants to make them cuter. Since I can’t seem to find any examples of anyone doing this on YouTube or IG, is there something I’m missing that makes this a bad idea?

And if not, anyone have any such projects they’d like to share photos of?
