Does weight have any meaning in the game right now?

I have noticed that the weights in this game make completely 0 sense and was wondering if that’s because they have 0 gameplay around it.

For example, a Polaris is about the same size as the 890 but is around a QUATER of the weight while having much sturdier materials and somehow also having 2% less armour but that’s beside the point.

In terms of weight the 890 is more inline with the IDRIS while also STILL being heavier. The 890 would be around the same weight as an idris and half a Polaris.

These inconsistencies are everywhere but this is by far the most extreme and if this is actually correct origin must be making some of the most advanced engines on any ship ever made
