ISO vinyl that will stick to wood

Hi all I’m making painted wooden yard signs that i need to be able to attach vinyl to. I can’t seem to get the vinyl to come off my transfer paper easily or stick well enough to the wood. I’m in zone 9a so it’s humid and that isn’t helping. Any vinyl brands you’ve found that will stick to painted wood or ways to treat the wood so it will stick?
