Today we said goodbye to Ludo

Firstly- thank you for this space. Today we made the impossible decision to let our old man go. Ludo was 17, and had already battled hyperthyroidism and Kidney Disease. Funny how through it all he always seemed so full of life. We’ve had him ten years now; he and his brother were dropped at my home to be watched for a weekend, and were never picked up. Ludo was the first cat I ever had but also the cat that made me fall in love with cats in general. The first cat to have my soul, to let me love them and know them, the first cat to ever know and love me. He loved ice cream and pasta and American cheese. He loved his brother. He loved his water fountain. I know he loved us. We would sleep curled together, sometimes on my head and others in my arms. In his older age he grew to love being held like a baby, where I would shower him with kisses and rubs. I think I’ve known for a few weeks now that something was coming, that his time was closing in. We took care of him as best we could and I am trying to be okay with it being enough. It’s only been a few hours and we have three other cats at home but it still feels empty. I think I’ll miss him forever. Thanks for listening ❤️
