i got home today and discovered 2 harvestmen closely entangled with each other on my porch. my first thought (from a distance) was mating.. but then i started recording and zoomed in. i've watched these guys eat each other on a few different occasions, so i thought that was what was happening.. once again, i was wrong! lol can please explain what's going on? im assuming they're fighting but im so confused!!

what are those wiggly things where the fangs usually are?

what was the bulge underneath the lower one that made it look like he was being eaten (to me at least), then seemed to go back inside of him when they first separated?

what are those orange ball shaped things on the back of the lower guy?

they seem to be different colors.. does this mean they're different species of harvestmen? did that have anything to do with the fighting?

my porch attracts a LOT of bugs due to living in the woods and being near a swamp.. but this definitely takes 1st prize when it comes to strange things i've witnessed! thank you so much to anyone that can help me with my questions!! ♡
