Narc mothers who encourage you to do something embarrassing

When I was a kid I played in a recreational ice hockey league. At one point I decided I wanted to try out for my high school team.

I didn't own a hockey jersey. The recreational league provided them for the players on loan during the season. So I asked my narc mother if she could buy me one. She refused and said just wear an old sweater. I told her I need a jersey as sweaters are too tight over the equipment. I also told her other kids would likely make fun of me. I then pleaded for even a used one. How much can that cost? You can afford the the league like come on. Still no.

So I did the try out in a sweater and some of the other kids laughed me about it. Thanks "mom".
