Losing fish on hookset is the problem the line,rod or both?

Bought a new rod/reel Combo on fb marketplace Penn fierce reel and the rod is Berkeley AmP says extreme sensitivity. Line is 6lb it’s not braid not fully sure what it is.

It’s super light and I was bombing it Across the lake versus my normal rod and getting lots of Strikes on my chadderbait. Problem was I was constantly losing the fish after 5-10 Seconds. I don’t usually have this issue or honestly think about it. Should I switch out the line or would this rod be better sorted for wacky/ Ned rig.

My usual rid is a ugly stick gx2.
