Is medical weed always for life?
Just wondered this because I've yet to meet a single MC user who's said they plan to stop once their condition has improved.
Of course there are those with chronic conditions (pardon the pun!) who are using MC to replace a lifetime of painkillers and other meds. That's a different case. I'm just thinking back to when I suffered from depression and was prescribed SSRIs for about six months before gradually tapering off.
I've been drug free for years now but I'm pretty sure I'd have struggled to stop had I got an MC prescription instead. I smoked BM weed daily for about a decade and truth be told I defo suffered from weed dependency big time. First thing I did when getting home was skin up. Same thing when I woke up. If I ran out and couldn't score I'd be super pissed off and cranky. Would totally ruin my weekend if I had to go without. Pretty much all my long terms smoker mates are the same.
I stopped years ago after getting randomly pulled by the police while properly 😑 and having a lucky escape. They must've known as my eyes were red as fuck but I think they had more important issues to deal with. I was already thinking of stopping and that was my wake up call as I'd have been fucked if they'd swabbed me.
I never bothered starting again but I doubt I'd have stopped if I'd had a script tbh. My best mate has recently got a script after convincing them that his anxiety returned after a decade (it didn't lol), but he's 100% just a garden variety stoner that wants to smoke it in the car without worrying about losing his licence.
