AITA for giving my sister the silent treatment after coming back from the hospital for a self inflicted injury.
We got into a fight and long story short I ended up in the hospital after cutting. I did tell her that it had nothing to do with her and that it was a reaction to stress, but I also couldn’t help her with it either. I was gone for 9 days and the room we shared was absolutely a mess, I bought take out the night before I left and it was still there, rotting at this point, her clothes where every where and it was an absolute struggle trying to open the door. This is a regular thing for her, but to make matters worse we were both too uncomfortable to talk to each other when I got back. I just wanted to take things slow but she expected me to be the one to make the first move which I just didn’t have the energy to do. Especially after cleaning. Then I saw her wearing my new dress that I didn’t get to wear yet, she’s a 4x and 6ft, I’m 5,3 and wear an XL. So she ruined it Instead of getting into another fight I just told my dad, he talked to her for me and made her pay me back, then a few hours later she asked me a simple yes or no question, I forgot what but I guess I gave her an attitude about it, but she was so upset she asked me to leave and stay with my Grama. She said that she didn’t appreciate how I don’t talk to her anymore about anything, and how it was wrong to go to my dad about the dress. Then she said that she didn’t like having to tip toe around me and that she’s stressed with high school AND having to worry if I’m upset. The thing is, even tho it’s not her fault I kinda do blame her for what happened, since we share a room and have conflicting sleep schedules she just didn’t care if I slept or not? So I went two months regularly getting 2-5 hours of sleep and I snapped. It’s not her fault. I made a personal choice but at the same time, I almost died. And she told me to leave the day I came back from the hospital.
