If you use hair dryers to heat set after airbrushing, get a good hair dryer.
After years of airbrushing and going through A LOT of hairdryers, I finally decided to buy a professional grade hairdryer. About $54.00 will get you an affordable yet durable hairdryer. Basic hairdryers you buy anywhere are obviously not built for what we use them for. Most hairdryers used to heat set for airbrushing are turned on and off for 5-20 seconds over and over and the switches break. If the switches don’t break, the internal fan gets clogged over time when the paint fog over time builds up. Plus, cheap hairdryers are loud.
The professional grade hairdryer I have now has robust switches, the rear air intake is removable and has a reusable filter and it so much quieter than the average ones you buy in the store.
Beauty supply stores carry professional level hairdryers and it’s a good place to learn the brands and usually find them cheaper online.
