EBay estate pipes?

Hi all,

I'm new to pipe smoking. I've been smoking cigars for years. I have a corn cob Missouri Meerschaum and a bones pipe on the way along with some tobacco. I've been eyeing ebay estate pipes. There's some that are already refinished, and some that need refinishing. I'm perfectly capable of refinishing the pipe myself. I even plan on finishing the bones pipe that's in the mail.

My question is: what should I be looking for when buying estate pipes or estate pipe lots? Are there certain manufacturers I should be targeting? Are there any specific pipes/manufacturers I should stay away from? I've seen prices all over the place, so I'm just looking for some insight.
