War Surgeon Set missing from Inventory

Hey all! I've been trying to get Varre's armor for a while now and this is the first Ng+ where I actually do his quest the right way. Met him in Liurnia, invaded the guy in Altus, got the blood from the maiden and got in Mohgwyn Palace. I knew that only one of the Nameless White Masks drops the armor so I killed the first two and saved the armor for last. Got invaded, killed the guy and the armor dropped but here's the thing: on the right side of the screen, with all the armor pieces, there was a wierd blue box symbol next to every piece. What does that mean? It's not showing up in the inventory, in the armor list and neither in the "recently obtained" list. Do I have to invade the actual Varre to get the set? Thanks in advice!
