Anyone have any clever ways to repurpose standard hue bulbs as indirect lighting?

Personal Setup

I’ve recently joined the hue ecosystem and it is terrific. Really enjoying it so far. That being said, I want to covert all my lighting to hue in order to maximize all of their features like scenes, etc.

Only problem being that hue is ridiculously more expensive than its cloned competitors options relatively expensive to upgrade an entire household.

I have a few extra bulbs kicking around and the thought occurred to me today, if I want to use hue for indirect lighting, like behind a headboard or television for example - couldn’t I just repurpose a standard bulb to go into that area? Instead of purchasing a $200 lightbar to go behind my bed, could the same effect (or close enough) just be done with the $20 open box bulbs I bought off eBay? It’s not like anyone is going to see the light fixture directly anyway, it’s supposed to be concealed. Was wondering if anyone had some cool ideas or had done something similar?
