Best route Watkins Glen with kids 10,8,3 and current construction

Title says it all and greatly appreciated. Did Taughanock gorge trail yesterday and round trip was just about enough for the three year old. Please help me plan a good route we will be arriving 10ish hopefully earlier. Thanks!
