Mental Health Matters in Power Exchange
I want to take a moment to speak to anyone here who identifies as a submissive, paypig, or bottom in any kind of kink dynamic especially in financial or control-based play.
Kink can be powerful, fulfilling, and deeply connecting. But no matter how much you enjoy the dynamic, your mental health has to come first. Consent isn’t just about saying yes in the moment it’s also about making sure you’re in the right headspace to give that yes, and that you’re not pushing yourself into emotional or financial harm to please someone else.
You are not “less” of a sub for setting boundaries. You are not weak for needing breaks. You are not failing your dominant by saying “I can’t right now.” A good Dom/Domme will respect your limits, will check in with you, and will never want to see you spiral.
If you’re feeling depressed, hopeless, or overwhelmed please pause the dynamic, even if it’s hard to admit you need to. Reach out to a friend, a helpline, or someone you trust. There’s nothing shameful about needing help. Your well-being matters far more than any kink scene.
This is supposed to be a space where both sides feel fulfilled, respected, and safe. You deserve that.
