Don't buy Maxcatch tenkara rods!

I ordered a Maxcatch tenkara rod a few days ago, and it arrived today. I'd noticed a couple one-star reviews, but the average score was good and I disregarded the one-star reviews, thinking that every product gets a few of those.

I was excited about the new rod and was planning to fish this weekend. Until I unboxed it. The very first time I tried to retract the rod, the tip section (called the lilian, I think?) became wedged inside the telescoping sections and would not retract or re-extend. I can't even get the rod retracted enough to fit it in the original shipping box, which is much longer than the carry tube provided. When I tried to pull the lilian out, the ferrule (again, I hope I have the right terminology here) popped off the tip section.

This rod is garbage. Don't buy Maxcatch!
