Convince me not to change my brakes
My bike flat bar gravel bike Trek FX sport 6 came with the lowest spec Shimano brakes mt201 with br-ur300 calipers. They work great I live in a flat state so don’t really use my brakes much and when I do they lock up quick and brake great. Plus they are low maintenance since they use mineral oil.
Now I’m thinking of getting some sram ultimate levers and hope rx2 calipers just to lose a couple grams. I’m estimating around 200 gram saving which is not insignificant. The whole shebagel is going to cost me around $300-400. To give you some context I replaced everything on the bike with high end components. Everything besides the cranks are carbon fiber and sram. Originally came with grx but switched to xx1 So the bike weighs 18.6lbs and was originally 22lbs. Plus they have carbon levers and just look way better than my current brakes.
