Notes Pasting link

Good day I just want to ask if this is a bug or something i did : )

i'm new on mac and just now when i use the notes
i know that using cmd+k will open pop out that i need to put the link

but I accidentally put forgot it and just highlight the text and then cmd + v after i copied the link and poof it was able to put the link on the text like cmd + k (so this is much faster ) but sometimes it's not working and just paste the link as plain text
