Hearing your friends parents misgender them.
Me (18) and my friend Jordan (18) are both trans and the same age as well. The only thing that’s different is that my parents are (fortunately) accepting and his, not so much. I’ll preface this by saying that this friend is basically a part of my family at this point and my parents has had long talks with him, discussing his life and his parents. He is accepted and is talking to therapists and such.
Went to his house yesterday though and we hung out in his room for some time. His parents were outside. But when he walked outside to get something from the other side of the lawn, which is sort of big, I followed him outside. I didn’t have shoes on so I stayed with his parents. And they asked me: “Oh, where’s she going?” “She’s going to the other side I think.” And shit like that. We went back to his room and I became a little angry all day after that.
I knew Jordan couldn’t hear, and I haven’t said anything. It just made me hate them more. It’s obvious the mom is narcissistic and the dad is too quiet to say anything and brushes everything under the rug.
TLDR, shitty parents misgender their child and ruins my day.
