My Sunrise

My days are cold without you. Clouds over my head keep your warmth from reaching me. But the days are always bright when you are here, even despite all the rain.

I wait for you every morning. Wait minute after minute. When your light begins to shine do the birds start singing. When your light finds me does my day truly begin.

In Darkness I trip over my steps. With your light, do I walk with confidence and less bruised feet.

Your light makes me aware of my surroundings. Before I wasn't sure where I was. Now I see the river, closer and so relieved.

When you shine at your peak, and I burn in your light. I sweat, loving every moment of the intensity of your passion.

Never would your light make me wish for a winter day.

Your light brings everything together. Everyone together. But always in the sky. We still take you for granted.

You are everything the world needs. You allow for the days to be enjoyed.

I thank God for creating you. My light that shines so bright. I start to think. A day with no sunrise. Would be crushing to the soul. I'm grateful for your light every day.
