What are the most dangerous jobs that an SWE could acquire?
I appear to be unemployable in the only thing I am good at. (Software Engineer, 15yrs/exp) So I am trying to find a job I can actually get that will ensure my family gets my life insurance payout.
I get scratches just from mowing my lawn, so don’t underestimate my absolute spatial incompetence to do manual labor sufficiently.
I just applied to a tree feller role, but the chances I get that seem slim. Also applied to ICE and border patrol. I’ll do anything dangerous, most likely fatal that minimizes risks of maiming or paralysis. Thoughts? It’s like a 1/1000 chance of fatality as a tree feller. Maybe higher since my coordination is dreadful. Life insurance payment is burning a hole in my wallet, can’t keep this as an option for long.
