Were you a biblical scholar?

I was one, at least on an amateur level.

It was going to BSF (Bible study fellowship) that drew me deeper into deconstruction. We were going over Genesis and the crazy stories about incest, murder, rape, etc. were never addressed in our discussions. This is the same God that I follow in the New Testament?

So were you "deep into the word" when you were active in your faith?

I've heard stories of people who deconstructed BECAUSE they went to seminary.

Go ahead, share your stories. We didn't all just leave the faith so we could sin or were never Christians to begin with.
