Reception Length at Benning

Son shipped off to Benning for 18X contract this past Monday. I am hearing rumors on social media that some trainees are spending weeks in reception due to the influx of recruits and summer. Does anyone have any reliable G2 on the situation? I remember how much reception sucked almost 40 years ago. I even read that some recruits were being sent to Sill for BCT and then back to benning for the “AIT” portion of OSUT.
