Odd car rental question

What would happen if I rented a car, picked up the keys from the rental counter, but then for reasons not relevant just failed to go take the car off the lot? Five or six hours later, go back to the rental counter and say "hey, I slipped and fell and my friends came and got me, I never took the car off the lot it's right where it was, here's the keys".
