On book 2 getting bored…
I know it’s shameless to admit, but I don’t care. I learned about ACOTAR about 2 years ago through BookTok and since then have read the series twice. I think it helps to know that it was my first exposure to Sarah J Maas.
Anyways… I have finally taken the dive to get into ToG after holding out as long as possible because of just how many books exist in the series and knowing it will probably end up taking me a full year of reading (at my slowwww pace) to get through it.
For those of you that have also read ACOTAR.. wings had ruin was by far my favorite book. I fell in love with the action/fantasy scenes and with the land of Prythian in general.
Now I’m at chapter 22 of Crown of Midnight and I just DO NOT feel the same connection to the story, the ancient lore, or even the characters as I did in ACOTAR. Does anybody else know what I’m talking about? Or relate?
I had heard AMAZING things about how if you “like” ACOTAR then you will LOVE ToG and I know I’m still early in the series but I’m just not getting it yet.
Do you recommend I continue on? When does the world building finally pay off?
