As a comic book fan do you find it sacrilegious to skip arcs?
For example I recently started reading Ultimate Spider-Man (2000-2009) for the first time and while I really want to read the entire 133 issue run, I just finished the hobgoblin arc which I enjoyed but now I’m at warriors, silver sable, etc.. arcs before clone saga and I gotta be honest it’s kinda been a bit of a slog for me. I don’t mind maybe one day going back and reading those but I’m trying to read the essential arcs from 1610 Spider-Man (Peter and miles respectively) and I kinda just want to get to the end. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed bendis’ ultimate Spider-Man run but now that I’m nearing the last quarter I feel like I kinda want to blast through to the end.
Are these arcs worth reading? And to go back to my first question do you guys find it wrong to skip arcs in runs you’re not really a fan of?
