Noob advice - RG35XX H - Mac user
Hi all,
I am looking at venturing in to getting a handheld console having never used emulators before.
I’m not particularly brilliant with technical stuff, but do tend to pick things up quite quickly.
I am leaning towards a RG35XXH to start with. If I like it and manage to get the hang of it, I may then look to something like a Pocket 5 so that I can play PS2 games. I just didn’t want to spend so much initially in case I struggle to get to grips with getting the operating system and games loaded.
I have a few questions that I’m hoping you guys can help with.
My computer is a MacBook. Will I be able to load an operating system and games on to an RX35XXH using iOS? Is there a guide or info anywhere on how to do this? Failing this, I could potentially borrow someone else’s PC for a few hours.
What is the best operating system to load on to the console?
I have found the megathread, and that process looks fairly straight forward. I’m sure I can find guides somewhere. Something I do need a bit of advice on though is SD cards. I’m completely unaware of file sizes etc. What would be a suitable size SD card to get to load up the compatible games? I’m not so interested in very early games, and imagine I will mainly be playing PS1, N64, Dreamcast and GBA games. It appears they are downloadable as complete collections, so ideally I’d like to just download the lot and stick them on an SD card.
Also, do I need a specific SD card? I know from owning a switch, that there are different kinds, I needed a fast reading one for that, so went for the licensed SanDisk ones. Though those are quite expensive for the capacity compared to the regular SD cards.
Many thanks in advance for any advice and support, I can imagine threads like this can get extremely tedious, so I apologise in advance. I did try my best to find the answers to the above from searching, but was unable to find definitive answers.
