For how long will i have k40?

I am born in 2004 and played my first tournament this summer, for how long will I have k40 and is the amount of games for which I have k40 independent for each format? I also heard that once you reach 2400 you will have a k10 for the rest of your life even if you drop below, is that also independent for each format?
